Posted: Fri Jul 01, 2011 1:25 pm Post subject: removing the steering box on my 8n: my steering just went out on my 1953 8n tractor will it come out without taking all the dash an a bunch of other stuff off. when i try to turn one way it the steering wheel tries to come up and then when i try to turn the other way ,it tries to turn just a little. It could also be filled by removing the nut that holds the steering wheel on and pouring the oil down the hollow steering shaft where it flowed out a cross drilled hole and over the upper bearing (very slow process).
